Money Isn’t The Root Of All Evil

Money Is Not The Root Cause Of All Evil, Lack of love is!

The top secret you must know to have more money

“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go”

Mother Teresa

As an awakening facilitator, I have seen countless people who come to me to get help in improving their financial situation. They have done everything possible to improve their finances, but somehow manage to stay stuck in the same situation. When we go deeper into what is stopping people from making a lot more money than they currently are, many people recall hearing a statement from their environment that ‘money is the root cause of all evil’. This is usually a result of experiences their parents had with money.  They have seen broken families, greed, selfishness, jealousy, addictions, suicide and even murder as a result of ‘money’ or ‘lack’ of it. Money sometimes causes people to do terrible, evil and self-destructive things. This results in the common perception that it is money that is cause these behaviours.

The truth is that money does not have any preference as to how it is used! It’s the people who use that money in a certain way which determines whether money becomes the root cause of all evil or the source to spread love, joy and harmony.

The real question is what makes people use money to create destruction instead of love?

The answer: Lack of Love!

Why? Because the need for love is one of the most fundamental human needs. We crave love from the day we are born till the day we pass over. This need for love is so strong that sometimes it makes us behave in such a way that instead of getting us love, it drives it away.

How money comes into play in all of this is the power that money gives to people. It is the tool that makes people believe that they can be, do and have whatever they want in life.

Love is what we all want the most, even when we don’t know it. As Marianne Williamson, the author of ‘Return to Love’ said, “all human behaviours are due to an act of love or a call for love”.  The use of money in many cases is a call for love.

Many times when people are asked why they want to make a lot of money, their responses have been, for example, ‘to buy a home for my family’, ‘to get my kids to better schools’, ‘to generate a passive income so that I can spend more time with the family’. This indicates that by wanting more money, they are looking to get love and connection. Sadly, when they don’t get what they wanted (love and connection), they use the same money to control their family, friends and loved ones. This results in the victim believing that ‘money is the root cause of all evil’ and it’s because of the money, they are behaving badly.’

Even in the most closest families, when money gets involved things get ‘dirty’. Addictions to drugs, alcohol and gambling are mostly associated with money. The truth is that these addictions are the result of a broken heart which is now filled by things that ‘money can buy’.

A perfect example of this is one of my clients, let’s say his name is Tom, who wanted to be an entrepreneur and run his own business but no matter what he did, his business didn’t make the money he wanted. After questioning him about ‘where this belief came from?’ Tom recalled a memory of his father being cheated by his brother in business. This brought a lot of grief to Tom’s family when his father turned into an alcoholic as a result. This incident resulted in Tom’s belief which kept him sabotaging his business venture without even him realising it.

Now, in order to debunk Tom’s belief  of ‘money is the root cause of all evil’ we must separate money and the person who is using the money. In this case, Tom came to the realisation that it was his ‘uncle’ who cheated his father, not ‘money’.

It was the ‘lack of love’ experienced by his father that made him turn towards the alcohol, not ‘money’.

All this time, Tom had been blaming money for his family’s situation. No wonder his business wasn’t taking off. It was like trying to take the ship into the open water but keeping the anchor at the shore.

Like Tom, most of us are trying to move our ship of abundance forward with the anchor of this belief firmly in the shore.

NOW… THE TOP  SECRET!

You must have probably guessed by now… The top secret to having more money in your life is to change your belief of ‘money is the root cause of all evil’.  Your beliefs are creating your reality right now. Whatever you believe to be true, is true for you and you will get exactly what you truly believe in life. This is only one of many beliefs that keep people financially stuck.

Do the following exercise to change any negative beliefs that you may have around money. The first step will enable you to reveal your beliefs around money and release any of the negative beliefs. The second step will enable you to install new positive beliefs about money.

Exercise:

Set time aside and find a place where you will be undisturbed.

Take a sheet of paper and pencil.

In the middle of the paper write down the word ‘money’. Put a circle around it.

Now write down all the beliefs that you have or you have heard around money. Such as:

‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ or

‘you must work hard to earn money’ or

‘rich people are mean’……..

After writing all the beliefs down, pick up the paper and breathe 3 times on that paper, imagining all the feelings that are stored in your cellular memory are leaving your body and entering into that sheet.

Now say the following words, ‘with love, I let go of all the beliefs, judgements, decisions, promises, agreements and pacts that I have made to myself regarding money. Please forgive me money for blaming you and I forgive you money for running away from me. We are both free. Thank you’.

After saying these words, rip the paper and shred it imagining that all the anchors of your ship are now unhooked and you are sailing your ship of abundance into open waters freely.

After this, on another sheet of paper, write down new beliefs about money that will replace the ones you’ve just released. The new beliefs could be:

Money is a tool and tools don’t have ethics, people do.

Money allows me to experience more love and happiness.

I deserve money and happiness at the same time…

Put this paper in a visible place and keep repeating the new statements every day to remind your subconscious mind to install these new beliefs.

The more often you do these exercises, the more you will invite opportunities in your life to have more money.
